France take on the Faroe Islands in Paris on Saturday evening as their World Cup 2010 qualification hopes hang by a thread. With two games left in the group, the French trail Serbia by four points, and with the Serbs also playing the same evening at home against Romania, France know that they not only have to win themselves, but Serbia has to lose or at least draw their game for France to still be in with a chance of automatic qualification.
See how they get on by joining us here at this blog this coming Saturday evening and enjoying the live stream football at its very best.
In their last game France travelled to Belgrade to face Serbia in a game they knew they just had to win to keep alive realistic hopes of automatic qualification through to South Africa next summer.
As it happened they could only come away with a 1-1 draw which seriously dented their chances. Nevertheless, qualification through the play-offs still looks an option if they can beat the Faroe’s on Saturday evening.
As things stand in the group at the moment, Serbia lead the way after eight games with nineteen points coming from six wins and one draw, France follow on fifteen points from four wins and three draws, while Austria are third with eleven points from three wins and two draws.
